Our ‘Hold On To Hope Project’ Gallery had its second exhibition called “AbstrACTION”, an exhibition of our ARTM’s Tutor Raul Martins and his students (in recovery and recovered.

The artworks come from months of work during last year, and you can see acrylic paintings and wood and bamboo sculptures.

The rehabilitation process takes around one year and there are a series of activities that helps people who use drugs, not only preparing them for social integration, but also to explore new paths for their futures. Art serves as a therapy in the treatment and rehabilitation area as people can express their thoughts and feelings in a canvas instead of words.

Having their artworks in an exhibition also helps them explore their potential. As these individuals can often feel marginalized by society, having their works in a showcase almost makes them feel valued.

Thank you to Alice Kok, our volunteer curator for all her support, and thank you to all that have come to support on the beautiful opening day.

Support! Don’t punish!

Thank you!
