Hold On To Hope Project Opening Ceremony
On December 19th 2020, we had our ‘Hold On To Hope Project’ Opening Ceremony in the beautiful Old Lepresarium at the far end of Coloane in the Nossa Senhora Village, Ká-Hó.
ARTM’s newly created Career Development Project is targeted in assisting rehabilitation and reintegration in society through vocational training and professional practice. Therefore, we have launched a Café and a Gallery in two historic houses in the Nossa Senhora Village. It will assist diverse professional skills of the residents, including tours, selling of art pieces, maintenance, marketing and management, etc.
We would like to express our gratitude to the Macau SAR Government, the Secretary of Social Affairs and Culture, Social Welfare Bureau and Cultural Bureau of Macau for their support and trust in ARTM.
We had our inauguration on a very cold day and we’re very glad to see everyone’s presence and support to give warmth to this project. The first exhibition in our gallery is called ART OF HEALING, made of art pieces created by people in recovery from ARTM and several treatment centers from Mainland China, fulfilling a beautiful cooperation between ARTM and National Control Narcotics Commission of China.
Thank you to Ambassador Paulo Cunha Alves, Cônsul Geral of Portugal in Macau & HK, Mr Iu Kong Fai, Head of Narcotics Division of PJ, Ms Stella Leong, Office of Secretary of Social Affairs & Culture, Ms Lam Oi Teng, Tourism Services, Alice Kok , curator of the Exhibition, and our main partners, Dr. Hon Wai, President of the Social Welfare Bureau.
Also, thank you to the institutions that support and gave training to our residents, Associação Gastronomia Activa, Pedro Almeida, João Carriço Martinho Moniz, André Lai, Wynn F&B Academy, Ciarán Carruthers, The Roadhouse Macau, Richard Patrick Loughlin, The House Fine Foods Macau, Trisula Trisulino, and to Fernando Lourenço of IFT and his students for all the brainstorming.
