Ka-Ho Village Reopening
On Saturday, November 6th, 2021 the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Macau SAR hosted the “Reopening of the Village of Our Lady” at the yellow houses of Ka-Ho. At the same time, they opened the doors to their on-site permanent exhibition of “ Land of Hope - Historical Archives Exhibition on Leprosariums in Macao“, displaying the success of the restoration, use, and revitalization of the heritage buildings in order to be open to the public.
ARTM delightedly joined the event together with the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Ao Ieong U and Mr. Hon Wai from the Social Welfare Bureau.
It was a very sunny day and everyone had a great time.
The exhibition “Land of Hope – Historical Archives Exhibition on Leprosariums in Macao” of ICM in the Village of Our Lady in Ka-Ho is divided into two sections. The permanent exhibition is open to the public and closes on Wednesday, and the exhibition at the Archives of Macau is open from November 6 to May 6 2022 and closes on Mondays and public holidays. Opening hours are from 10 am to 6 pm. Please visit to learn more about selected archives and materials related to Macau as a leprosy pioneer in the field of rehabilitation and the spread of humanitarianism in Macau.
