VNGOC - NGOs from Asia Unite

On April 14th at 3pm, ARTM participated again on another Side Event of the 64th CND with the VNGOC and UNODC Civil Society Unit. This Side Event was called “VNGOC Ad Hoc Working Group, NGOs from Asia unite to create a consensus and a call for attention to the challenges in Asia regarding drug matters”.

ARTM joined as we are members of the working committee. We presented our work on harm reduction, mainly on the Needle Syringe Program that has achieved a successful 6 consecutive years with zero new infections of HIV among people that inject drugs. We keep our stance that if other member states in the region approve harm reduction measures such as the Needle Syringe Program, HIV rates will for sure decrease in those regions.
